It was a corp office in columbia with spanish accent. I had to let a higher level tech call me back. It came with a different # to call to set up than I had called before. None of the main 3 functions have worked consistently for most of the year, so Ill take it for now. I decided to turn off mobile data unless Im out away from my home wifi, as both were lighting up. Atm I cant send & recieve pictures in texts, but am able to make calls, view webpages via 4g, & send plain texts. I refuse to buy another phone until the battery dies in this one. TF always used other carriers lines and did not have any of their own. I am somewhat hopeful having VZ combined might improve things, as they are rolling in money compared to TF, with a lot of things already in place TF did not have. The last one said he was in columbia when I asked, and they do seem slightly better than the India ones. Since getting the latest VZ sim card, I have noticed I got spanish accent csrs instead of india. But its 2 years away, & a lot can happen in that time. I am concerned Verizon will just squash this service out of existence at the end of 2024 when they are no longer required to keep it going to try & get more full price customers & eliminate competition. TF did not care, as they knew it was going to be Verizons problem, so the India call centers idiot brigade was enough to make you want to lose your mind. Verizon merger was not completed enough a year ago for them to have any support set up. Ive had att and t mobile sim cards in the last year, and over time both gradually stopped working. Which was bs, because I MADE SURE this phone could handle 4G before I bought it. What drove ME nuts is I had just purchased a brand new pristine S9+ and TF were telling me it was incompatible & I had to buy a new phone. They are all bouncing off the same repeater clusters on the same mountains. I think Verizons is probably the more reliable & widespread of the 3, so I really dont care about what dish Im pinging. Regardless of what phone or brand sim card you have, the phone always bounced between all of those networks depending on where you are anyway. They knew this was coming for a long time, and handed the transition abysmally. I was perfectly happy with 3G and this change has been a giant nightmare for an entire year for me, for an "improvement" didn't want or care about. All phones now have to use 4G lte at the minimum, if not 5G. It likely nullified the previous agreements they had with those carriers. The 3G bands TF used are being taken out of service and reallocated. The whole industry standard has changed, not just these 2 companies.
